Captioning your event
Best practice for any event is to build a line for captioning in your budget.
- Start with our Captioning Decision Guide to determine the best option for your event.
- View captioning vendors that provide live captioning as a service.
- Make sure to include a disability access statement on any of your event materials.
- If you receive a request from a participant, DRC will work with you to provide captions for your event. Contact DRC at 520-621-3268, drc-info@arizona.edu or via our online request form.
Auto-transcription options
Auto-transcription is machine-generated content, which generally has mistakes, and is not a replacement for human-created captions. However, auto-transcription services can serve as supplemental access and event notes for all participants. View more about using auto-generated captions.
Post Event Captioning
If your event was captioned, (or you used auto-transcription), and your recording will be openly shared over email or available from an Arizona website, it must have accurate captions. View "adding your captions" for tutorials and resources or work with a captioning vendor to post your recorded event.
